Brandon Bachleda

Greetings! I’m Brandon Bachleda, a senior at Marlboro High School, who will be serving as your chair for the Asia-Pacific Summit in the 2023 Y-MUN conference. I’ve been participating in Y-MUN ever since I was a freshman. Now, I have the honor of serving as the president of my school’s chapter. I’ve loved debate and civic engagement my whole life. One mantra I’ve lived by my whole life is to “Speak so that others love listening to you, and listen so that others love speaking to you”. Model UN is the perfect place to do just that. The debate that comes from Model UN produces complex discussions that are really engaging and enjoyable. This club gets people talking about important topics that wouldn't be discussed otherwise.. I hope you all get a lot out of conference this year and I look forward to seeing you all in January!

In my free time I like to relax by playing video games, and watching sports. I’ve dabbled a bit in podcasting and content creation but sadly, those haven't gotten too far. If you know me personally you’ll understand how much I love the small stuff in life. Good food, a nice nap, jazz music. I’ve been hearkened by many to being like a grandpa, liking old things and acting very deliberately. I wouldn’t go as far as saying that’s entirely untrue, but I’d like to believe I have more to offer than just that. I’d let other people be the judge of that. I say to myself that anybody and everybody is worth holding a conversation with, and I extend that offer to all of you.
