Hello! I’m Hannah Shahinian, the chair for the Pan-American Summit at the 2022 conference. I’m a senior at Somerville High School, and this will be my fourth year in MUN. At conference, I’m looking forward to witnessing some amazing debate about important issues, as well as meeting some wonderful delegates! MUN has helped me grow as a person by giving me confidence and leadership abilities. This year, I hope to give back by helping others find the will to speak and lead. I can’t wait to meet you all at conference and, though I’m not debating myself, I hope to learn from your passion and creativity.
Outside of MUN, I also participate in YAG! I run both clubs at my school, and I love every minute of it. I was absolutely stoked when I was chosen to go to CONA this past summer, and I had a lot of fun defending my proposal. Though I love debate and research, I also am an avid fan of music. I love to play jazz standards and improvise on piano, which I’ve played in my school’s jazz band for many years. I am also the section leader of the pit in my school’s marching band, which is one of my favorite activities ever! There’s something extremely satisfying about hitting things… musically. I mainly play the marimba, and I love to head bang while doing so. Aside from all that, I love to draw realistically, write ridiculous pieces of fiction, (re)watch Star Trek, and spoil my monstrous pet rabbit, Lulu. Above all, I hope you all have a wonderful time at conference! Make sure to say hello. I’d be happy to chat with any and all of you!
