Environment & Technology

Hi all! My name is Henry Hung, I’m a Senior at Dulaney High School in Baltimore County MD, and I’m so excited to be serving as one of the chairs for the Environment and Technology committee this year! This will be my second year serving as chair, and my 4th year in MUN. My experience has been nothing but positive, and the memories that I’ve gained in this organization have been some of my most treasured. I can’t wait to get to meet and know every single one of you and give you the greatest MUN experience possible!

Some stuff about me, I love music and plan on pursuing a career and degree in music through college. I play the Viola and Piano, although I’m more partial to the Viola (don’t tell my piano teacher I said that). This year, I had the amazing opportunity to play in the Young Artists Orchestra at the Tanglewood Music Festival, and that was probably the single greatest experience of my life. Other than classical music, I also love classic rock, since that’s what I grew up listening to as my Dad’s also a massive fan of groups like Pink Floyd. Outside of music, I love learning about history, and travel! Pre-Covid, I used to travel to Asia every year to visit family in Taiwan and Hong Kong, but I’ve also traveled to the UK and Italy, and plan on exploring new places! My favorite TV show is Community, and my favorite movies are anything that Wes Anderson has made.

As for advice during Conference, do your research! There are so many different resources available to help you and make the work less difficult, and it really makes the whole experience so much more special. The most memorable moments in MUN come from debates when delegates know about their topics! I recommend reading through the topic descriptions for your respective committees, they are all well researched by my fellow officers and take a look at the citations on those things! I remember when I first read through my topic descriptions I completely skipped over the citations, but they are incredibly useful. Our officers have them listed in terms of how useful they were to help them write these topic descriptions, so you can bet they’ll be just as helpful for you when you’re looking for resources to do research on your countries. With that, I wish you luck on your Conference preparations and can’t wait to see you there!
