Historical Security Council
Hi everyone! My name is Marcus Rojo and I will be the chair for Historical Security Council A at the 2022 conference. I am currently a rising senior at Cranford High School, and am a member of the Cranford Delegation. I have participated in the Historical Security Council for three years. Some things I enjoy aside from Model UN include playing soccer, going to the beach, and going to Dunkin Donuts. This summer I traveled to Iceland on a school trip! It was a bit chilly (40 Degrees) and the sun never went down, literally, but I wouldn’t change it for anything.
On another note, I'm so excited to meet everyone during the conference, and am especially excited for the debates. I find that the Historical Security Council has always been a welcoming and comforting environment, and as a result it makes the perfect place for respectful debate. I hope to replicate a sense of comfort during this year’s conference and hope to spread positivity throughout. If anyone ever needs anything, do not hesitate to reach out! I know conference can be nerve-wracking, especially for 1st years. Just remember, we are a judgement-free group, and we all started somewhere! I remember how nervous I was to speak my first year, but trust me, it is 100% worth it. I also want everyone to know that if you are truly not comfortable speaking, you don't have to! There is no pressure, and there are other ways to involve yourself. Once again, please reach out to me if you need anything. See you all soon!
