International Criminal Court
Hello Delegates! My name is Roman Modhera, and I’m honored to be your 2022 International Criminal Court A Chief Justice. I am a senior at Saint Joseph High School in Metuchen and this will be my fourth year participating in MUN. Outside of MUN, I enjoy participating in my school’s Mock Trial team, Youth and Government Delegation, swim team, and the newspaper club. Some of my hobbies include reading, learning about investing, playing chess, and hanging out with friends. A fun fact about me is that I was born on Leap Day (and before you ask, no I’m not 4 years old and I celebrate on Feb. 28th).
Every January, I really look forward to meeting delegates at the conference and making new friends with everybody in the committee. My one piece of advice is to make the most of every opportunity you get. If you have a chance to go up to speak on a topic and bring a perspective that nobody else has brought: do it. If you’re a little apprehensive about joining your group to write your brief: do it. If you’re a little scared about going to the delegate dance and dancing with people you don’t know: do it. In the end, you’ll come to realize that those leaps of faith are what make MUN memorable. I myself have been all of those things and my best MUN memories happened when I was on the speaker’s list for the first time or in collaboration with my courts group or dancing with a stranger listening to an old 2010 Usher song on a crowded dance floor. You’ll never know unless you do it.
I can’t wait to meet you all at conference this year and let’s make the most of this MUN conference.
